มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อกำหนดหลักเกณฑ์ของผลิตภัณฑ์ฉลากเขียวและมอบ สัญลักษณ์ฉลากเขียว ให้แก่ ผลิตภัณฑ์คุณภาพที่มีผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมน้อยกว่า เมื่อเปรียบเทียบ กับผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ทำหน้าที่ อย่างเดียวกัน โดยกลไกทางการตลาดจะผลักดันให้ผู้ผลิตปรับปรุงคุณภาพ สินค้าและบริการ ของตน และดำเนินธุรกิจโดยคำนึงถึงผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมเป็นสำคัญ เพื่อตอบสนอง ต่อความต้องการ และการยอมรับของผู้บริโภค

It is an honor for Ricoh (Thailand) to receive the Green Label from the Thai Industrial Standards Institute by its Aficio 1022, a multifunction appliance, guided by a software program that functions as a copier, printer, scanner, and fax which is the first multifunction copier appliance to receive the Green Label in Thailand.
The Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCD) initiated the Thai Green Label Scheme in October 1993. The Green Label is an environmental certification awarded to products that have minimum impact on the environment compared with other products serving the same function. The purpose of the Green Label Scheme is to let manufacturers improve quality and production management together with environment together with environmental aspects by developing the concept of resource conservation, pollution reduction and waste management.
