Held for the second year, the awards hope to see more organizations participating and in doing so, stir up the eco spirit not just for 2013 but also in time to come.
In 2012, Keppel Land Limited (Keppel Land) is the winner of the Most Creative Action Award. It leveraged the World Environment Day period to engage its staff in several meaningful green activities such as recycling drives and nature walks. The event culminated with an environmental talk and movie screening on the 5th June, which was also the World Environment Day.
On the other hand, Glaxo Wellcome Manufacturing Pte Ltd (Glaxo Wellcome) took home the Most Energy Savings Award with the implementation of switching off air-conditioner initiative. Air-conditioner is known to be one of the most energy- consuming appliances. Taking the radical step by turning it off to conserve energy has earned Glaxo Wellcome the recognition for their efforts.
