Wax ribbons are the simplest and most economic choice of thermal ribbons. They are ideal for general purpose such as shipping label, retail labels and warehouse label. They are designed to use coated and uncoated paper materials in environments with no exposure to chemicals and abrasion
Wax thermal transfer ribbons typically consist of four layers: a polyester (PET) film base, a back coating for print head protection, a release layer, and a wax-based ink layer.
