What motivated you to change your business?

Thai Tohken Thermo Co., Ltd. is one of the leading global Japanese companies with over 30 years of trusted expertise in heat treatment for automotive parts, ensuring the spare parts achieve optimal strength and flexibility for customer use. In addition, the company is also the leader in the metal coating business. Currently, we are expanding our customer base to a more diverse range of product groups, including razor blades, scissors, golf club heads, screw threads, medical instruments, and other items, to accommodate future market demands. In today’s evolving business environment, all organizations must adapt to changes. Enhancing operational efficiency has always been a priority for our company. Therefore, to fully transition into the digital era, improving workflow processes has become one of our key focuses. Our organization manages a large volume of essential documents that serve as information and references to uphold production standards. In the past, we required significant physical document storage and must bear the costs of maintenance, storage facilities, and other hidden costs. Another challenge was the inefficiency in retrieving documents due to our former document storage system, which did not allow users to individually access control. Therefore, a dedicated central unit was required to search for information on behalf of users. To address these challenges, we aim to transition to a more stable and efficient system that better meets our operational needs.

Ricoh’s DocuWare solution automates this process by enabling employees to scan documents directly from Ricoh’s multifunction devices and apply predefined settings. This eliminates the need for manual file renaming and categorizing, reducing workload and saving time. AI-powered document classification and automatic filing ensure that documents are stored under the correct categories. DocuWare’s user-based access control eliminates the need for a central unit to manage document searches, which allows employees to retrieve files themselves, leading to greater convenience, efficiency, and faster operations compared to traditional methods.
