Stay clean and safe in every touch with RICOH Ag+ Japanese standard antimicrobial film for the New Normal era

According to the COVID-19 pandemic since the end of 2019, people are more aware of healthcare and hygiene. Subsequently, most people’s behavior changes until the new behavior becomes normal, called “New Normal”. The New Normal includes wearing face mask to prevent germs when staying in public places, performing physical distancing, washing hands more frequently with soap or hand gel sanitizer for disinfecting, and cleaning devices and equipment with sanitizing solution.

Ricoh realizes the importance of preventing germs from spreading in the office and at home. We invented and developed RICOH Ag+ antimicrobial film. Ricoh Ag+ film, launched in January 2021, is the innovative protection sheet that generates silver ion (Ag+) and when connecting with enzymes of bacteria, it destroys cells and blocks replication on the screen surface within seconds. Using a damp cloth with water to clean the antimicrobial film helps keep it active throughout its lifetime, which is better than using light alcohol detergent. If using light alcohol detergent, the film can be wiped for up to 5,000 times. Cleaning the film with strong alcohol detergent can destroy its surface.

 

Components

Ricoh Ag+ antimicrobial film is SIAA ISO 22196 for KOHKIN certified from Kanagawa Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (KISTEC), a top research institute in Japan, that the film can inhibit viruses and bacteria.

Comparison

The antimicrobial sheet has two sizes, 15 x 26.5 cm and 12.5 x 22 cm, fitting the multifunction copiers’ Smart Operation Panel. Moreover, the sheet can be trimmed into multiple pieces in the custom sizes as required to use with other devices such as smartphones, tablets, wristwatches, or any common touch surfaces such as light switches, elevator buttons, or fingerprint scanners.
